I love the premise of P4G, a group literally reaching out for the truth of all the happenings in their town, and questioning each detail that most people take in as the collective truth. Gameplay is still how Persona games work, but with a lot of interactions between the group members during combat. A big step up from P3 variants. Story is compelling and very JRPG coded. Visuals are fun and amazing for its time of release. Soundtrack is very memorable and iconic. I really just didn't like that portion of the story with the blocky and gamey type of dungeon. And the villain of that said dungeon. That's the only reason I won't replay this game. If I could skip that segment, I would.

This is not a review but rather a quick thought on my impressions after finishing it a few days ago. INTRO: This is my first Persona game. I’m not a huge JRPG player in general, though I would say I like and appreciate them because I know that some of the best video game stories are found there. I consider them games that require a lot of time and dedication to fully enjoy, but I don't know; I suppose because of the opinions of people who talk a lot about the series, and since I like the anime-style aesthetics, it always attracted me, but I never gave it a chance until now. GENERAL OPINION: Wow, what a fantastic game I got myself into, for the love of God! I put in a total of 114 hours trying to complete as much as possible because the game has so much content that you can't get enough of it. Part of the reason I dedicated so many hours to it is simply that I didn't want to stop playing. The combat system is super dynamic; it’s not just about landing a hit. The ability to chain attacks when you weaken the enemy, switch personas during combat without losing your turn, and group attacks when you take down all opponents is fantastic. While farming might not be strictly necessary since the main mechanic relies on fusion to get higher-level personas, I didn’t find the dungeons boring. They can become quite monotonous with having to climb floors, but the battles are so quick that I didn’t mind at all. CHARACTERS & OST: The soundtrack is incredible; all the vocal tracks are excellent and stick in your head, perfectly setting the atmosphere for the game. As for the characters, they’re all amazing. Building relationships is a crucial part of the game, allowing you to deepen your connections with the characters, which also benefits you in combat. My favorites were definitely Chie, Kanji, and Naoto. STORY: The story is very well constructed, and just when you think you’re about to reach the end of the mystery and uncover the truth, there’s a little twist that leaves you surprised. The mix of tension in serious moments of the story, followed by chill moments with friends at the beach or at a festival, makes you grow fond of the characters. I played the Gold version, so I maxed out my bond with Marie to achieve the true ending, which was very satisfying. FINAL THOUGHTS: This was my gateway into the series, and it left me wanting more. I’ll probably start Persona 3 FES soon. I know many recommend starting with Persona 5, but I prefer to begin with the older titles so it won’t be too hard to play older games, and I’ll also get to see the evolution of the series, both technically and in terms of new mechanics introduced in each installment.
