Parasite Eve is a survival horror role-playing video game developed and published by SquareSoft (now Square Enix) for the Sony PlayStation console. The game follows the story of Aya Brea, a rookie NYPD officer who becomes embroiled in a series of bizarre and deadly events related to a genetic mutation known as mitochondria. The game combines elements of horror, science fiction, and RPG gameplay, featuring real-time battles, exploration, puzzle-solving, and character development. The game's plot is inspired by the novel of the same name by Hideaki Sena, and its gameplay mechanics were influenced by the Final Fantasy series. WHAT A GAME!!!! I was HOOKED to this game from it's opening level and cinematic! The OST is up there among one of my favorites from the PS1 era!! The combat is VERY unique and while it has horror elements and vibes to it, it's not scary (to me) but some scenes CAN be unsettling when you take into consideration when the game came out! THIS IS A MUST PLAY, not just for Survival Horror fans, (the game is labeled as a Survival Horror game) but also for RPG fans too! It's a perfect blend of the two genres and offers a TON of replay-ability!!!

Fun and intriguing sci-fi thriller RPG from the late 90's that I repeatedly played a demo for, as a child. Everything about it was above average, including the music, visuals, gameplay, and story. However, it's relatively short and has some confusing and irritating quirks that may be more a problem of the time period rather than its design. That doesn't excuse an awful post-game dungeon that requires a second playthrough and hours of mindless gameplay to see the "true" ending. Overall though, I was impressed by it and have a cautious optimism and curiosity for its sequel.

Even though this game has been out for a while now, it's still a classic of the survival horror genre. Its dark atmosphere, grotesque enemies, and story full of mystery will keep you hooked from start to finish. Don't be fooled by its retro appearance, Parasite Eve 1 is a challenging and complex game, but not unfair. It will make you think strategically about every move and use your resources wisely. Get ready for a gaming experience that will put you to the test!

Really fun game and quite the intro to survival horror as an alternative to Resident Evil. Did not go for the true ending as of yet.

Otro de mis videojuegos favoritos, una historía increíble y una banda sonora que acompaña de manera magnífica cada uno de los momentos vividos en este juego. Combinación perfecta de acción, misterio y poderes, los cuales no te hacen sentir para nada extra poderoso, sino que terminan siendo más una ayuda que una manera de abusar del juego. Personajes icónicos como la protagonista Aya Brea y sus acompañantes así como el enemigo de turno, EVE quien es el villano de esta historia. Todo el recorrido del juego es muy lineal, pero con una brecha de desafío bien interesante por qué en ningún momento te sientes demasiado poderoso como para estar en una zona en particular. Mi recomendación es que este clásico jamás debiera morir y para todo aquel que jamás ha tenido la oportunidad de experimentarlo, debería darle la chance de que esta magnífica historia lo acompañe el resto de su vida.
