The Twin Snakes features graphical improvements over the original, new cutscenes written and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, and gameplay functions originally introduced in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. The game also includes a revised translation with re-recorded voice acting using all of the original English voice cast. Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto oversaw development of the game. It was also intended to allow the player to play Metal Gear Solid as it was meant to be played

Normalmente quando eu escuto o povo dizendo para mim. Tal pessoa é um genio, tal pessoa é muito forte, tal pessoa faz o impossivel. Eu assumo que fico sem acreditar e preciso de certa forma verificar, e olha, Kojima é o genio que todo mundo diz que ele é e mais. Nossa como fazia tempo que eu nao pegava um jogo tão bem feito e tão absurdamente bom . A sua historia envolver um agente secreto enviando para uma missão considera para muitos "impossivel" para recuperar um grupo de refens em uma instação terrorista. A historia começa com um ideal de espionagem e drama e se desenvolve de forma incrivel. Cada personagem e cada cena tem sua grande importancia na historia e na construção dos personagens. Outro jogo que é digno de filme e oscar. Olha que tenho medo de virar filme e não estar a altura do jogo xD. O seu gameplay envolver elementos de furtividade quebra-cabeças e acredite ou não. O jogo é CHEIO de pequenos detalhes que torna tudo exageradamente vivo. Um inimigo pode lhe procurar por você correr ou andar encima de uma barra de ferro. Ele observa pegadas na neve e decidi ir atrás para verificar até onde elas vão. Você pode usar o cigarro tanto pra acalmar tanto para ver fios infra-vermelho. Você em caso de ficar em um local frio, a comida que no caso é a cura congela e você não consegue usar entre outros detalhes. Da para notar o amor que os criadores do jogo fizeram. Seu visual é bem fiel ao ambiente, onde os inimigos costumão usar roupas para aumentar a camuflagem no loca que estão. Os personagens são bem feitos e detalhados. Eu sei que essa é uma versão melhorada da de ps1 mas mesmo no ps1 o jogo da impressionava com os detalhes que o mesmo trazia. A soundtrack é otima de se ouvir. Muito momento você vai estar com o som ambiente, mas nos momentos que possui musica, você realmente sente a adrenalina do momento. Como o ultimo homem na defesa da humanidade e você nao pode desistir. Os efeitos sonoros como vocês devem imaginar também foram feitos a dedo e muito bem cliamizados. Metal Gear Solid 1 é uma obra prima que eu não recomendo para todos pois seu gameplay envolve furtividade e nem todos vão gostar, mas caso você deseja dar uma chance ou gosta desse tipo. Eu SUPER recomendo esse jogo o/

El remake de Metal Gear Solid se ve muy bien, pero el nuevo gameplay no se integra bien a los niveles y el cambio del soundtrack es un error imperdonable. De alguna forma me hizo apreciar mas el original. Pero las nuevas cinematicas me gustaron, aunque no todas jejeje.

Same everything as MGS1 just improved with better graphics amazing cutscenes and the MGS2 mechanics, A lot of people hate this for no reason but i prefer this over the OG MGS1, 4.5/5

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (2004) is the remake of the 1998 masterpiece Metal Gear Solid. It came with new visuals akin to MGS2 Sons of Liberty. New mechanics were also implemented, like the now mandatory First Person View camera. The original game is one of my all time favorites. It showed me how rich videogame lore can get. MGS is responsible for how cinematic videogames came to be nowadays. Hideo Kojima is a master at making us reflect at society's problems while touching on science fiction and paranormal elements. This remake changes the serious tone of the original, for a more action oriented narrative filled with one liners. One thing to note is that the control scheme is outdated. It is a product of its time. You either love it or hate it. I choose the former. Definitely on my recommended list.

I've never played a Metal Gear Solid game myself until now, and while I obviously love the wacky story and cutscenes, the gameplay is like, fine for a stealth action game and the boss fights are kind of abysmal outside of Psycho Mantis.

Despite being a remake of the original game it's somehow not as fun or entertaining to play. First thing I noticed was that some of the character models were fairly ugly despite looking graphically on par with MGS2. Meryl specifically just looked weird. Snake's face also seemed slightly off perhaps due to some of the textures. Second thing I noticed was that the atmosphere didn't feel as great as the original. I later learned it was due to the changes in music, but something about the visual aesthetic, while graphically higher in quality, just wasn't as good. The art direction just seemed a little off. Lastly, the voice acting was a disappointment. The directing and action set pieces were also hit or miss. The helicopter encounter was ridiculous and took me out of the moment. Gameplay was also MUCH easier. I had completely forgotten that the original game didn't have the 1st person sight along with the new movement options. Safe to say the whole thing felt like a breeze for the most part. Lastly, the voice acting... on top of the already divisive new take the cutscenes took, the voices were also just not as good. Even with everyone returning to voice their parts, none of it hit the same. Two moments in particular (the elevator scene and the "FOX" - "DIE" scene) were very disappointing not just due to the new scene direction but also due to line delivery. I know this entire review is just comparing it to the original but this IS a remake that clearly tried to be faithful in almost every aspects minus a few changes and additions. It's definitely NOT a bad game. It stands on its own and will most likely be the way modern gamers prefer to tackle the first entry in the SOLID series since it's visually on par with MGS2 and MGS3, but I would still recommend the original game over this. Everything the original gets right just puts that experience over this version despite the graphical enhancements and gameplay additions. Glad I got to experience this version, but if I ever replay MGS1 it will be the original version.
