Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the final canonical Metal Gear game to feature Solid Snake as the main character. The gameplay of the previous games have been kept along with some new features, such as the ability to roll on your back and also to hide in bins scattered around the environment. Most of the story and the relationship between the characters are explained through cut-scenes with a considerable length, so knowledge of the prior games is recommended to fully understand the story. The game also features a complex multiplayer mode entitled Metal Gear Online with some original missions based on the stealth aspects of the single-player games.

Sono opere fondamentali del videogioco e titoli estremamente ricchi di sfaccettature e particolarità; inoltre noi tutti amanti del medium dobbiamo davvero moltissimo alla saga del buon Hideo Kojima tanto che diventa davvero facile sbagliare analisi anche solo per una questione di sudditanza psicologica nei confronti di qualcosa di così importante. Ebbene, chiedo scusa a tutti i fan(come me) di Metal Gear ma oggi prendo in visione quello che è, a parer mio , il peggior capitolo della serie: Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns of the patriots. Guns of the patriots aveva un compito estremamente difficile: doveva essere il diretto sequel del Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of liberty e avrebbe dovuto unire tutti i collegamenti pure del 3 (prequel dell’intera saga) e dare una sorta di finale “logico” alla serie. Ci riesce? In realtà si. Non entrerò nei dettagli della trama ,come sempre, ma sappiate che per riuscirci il riluttante Kojima( che, stando a varie voci di corridoio manco lo voleva fare questo gioco) ha finito per utilizzare tutti gli espedienti narrativi più banali e li ha fusi con un Fan-service talmente spudorato da risultare quasi buffo in certe circostanze. Facendo questo è andato di fatto a tradire lo spirito della serie, da sempre contraddistintasi per la sua originalità e la profondità della sue tematiche. Ma sopratutto ha tradito il dionisiaco finale del Metal Gear Solid 2, per me uno dei punti più alti della serie. E poi c’è un’altra grave,gravissima mancanza per un videogioco: il gioco. In MGS 4 si gioca poco, troppo poco , il titolo dura circa 15/16 ore ma di parti giocate ce ne saranno massimo 6/7: il resto sono tutte enormi cutscene di qualità altalenante. Più che un videogioco sembra un’enorme serie TV, anche per via della suddivisione in atti , ma con scene estremamente prolisse e momenti di fan-service un po’ troppo sempliciotto. Il problema è che anche la “serie tv “ inclusa in Guns of the patriots non è al solito livello di Kojima: molte scene sono semplicemente troppo lunghe e , a causa di ciò , finiscono per perdere potenza . Quel poco di gameplay presente ha perso quasi completamente l’elemento stealth tipico della saga divenendo quasi un vero action tps eccezion fatta per l’atto 3, l’unico veramente costituito da fasi stealth. Nulla da dire , come sempre sul fronte audio-visivo: graficamente il gioco si difende ancora benissimo nonostante sia classe 2008 e le ambientazioni sono varie e davvero bellissime. Non ho amato la OST come quella di MGS 3 Snake Eater ma anche in questo caso le musiche , così come i doppiaggi, sono sempre di ottimo livello. Quello di MGS 4 è un Kojima stanco e poco ispirato , che ha ascoltato più il pubblico che gli chiedeva a gran voce del Fan-service immediato piuttosto che fidarsi del suo genio che ci ha regalato capolavori inossidabili come i primi 3 Metal Gear. Sembra più un gioco fatto dai fan, magari da quelli che non hanno capito niente del 2, che il 4 sembra quasi voler “annullare“ a livello concettuale. Il risultato è un titolo bello artisticamente ma anche lento e compassato che deve il suo grande successo solamente al nome che porta. Per carità, è sempre un Metal Gear quindi non può essere certo un titolo insufficiente ,anzi nel complesso di tratta comunque di un buon gioco naturalmente,ma di sicuro non è neanche lontanamente paragonabile ai primi 3 Metal Gear Solid che sono vere pietre miliari del videogioco.

Прошел до конца:✔️ Честно, мне игра понравилась. Да, может быть геймплея и правда маловато, может быть фильма слишком много в какие-то моменты. Но так как я довольно искушенный в игровых развлечениях, мне не помешало, что одна из немногих игр предложила мне больше фильма, чем игры. Это хорошее окончание истории всей истории МГС, в стиле Кодзимы. Не было обилия поворотов сюжетных, как в Якудзе 2, в принципе всё, что тебе говорят, ты либо предполагал, либо не особо удивляешься. Боссы хорошие, но мало, хочу побольше. Айпад есть в игре..

un perfecto cierre con todo tipo de emociones para los fan de la saga brutal para los nuevos si las cinematicas son largas pero totalmente disfrutable si sabes lo que va a terminar gracias por todo metal gear

Excellent game with good acting and story. Cutscenes can be surprisingly long and may put some people off but its a great story driven game with mini movies between gameplay 😆
