Marvel's Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. The game is set in the Marvel Universe and features a blend of strategy, role-playing, and card-based combat mechanics. In the game, players take on the role of "The Hunter," a customisable original character, and lead a team of Marvel superheroes. The story revolves around battling the demonic forces of Lilith, the Mother of Demons, who has been resurrected by the nefarious group Hydra. The gameplay involves strategic, turn-based combat, where players use a deck of ability cards to perform attacks, skills, and buffs. Between missions, players can explore the Abbey, the game's hub area, where they can interact with other heroes, upgrade abilities, and make decisions that affect the story and character relationships.

A decently fun game. It's a turn based rpg deckbuilder. It's interesting enough. The story is whatever. It's cool interacting with Marvel characters but overall nothing special. Would like to go back and beat.
First of all, a shout-out to friend of the stream LoopyJazz for cashing in the channel point reward and picking this game! Who knows when I would have gotten around to it otherwise, and I really enjoyed my time with this!
The overall story was definitely interesting and not the kind of thing I normally come into contact with in my Marvel media consumption. I was at least passingly familiar with every hero in the game except for Nico and the current iteration of Ghost Rider, although I definitely know some of his other forms. I enjoyed the in-between mission Abbey exploration, character dating, and hang-out portions but they definitely could have been condensed a bit. 30-40% less busywork and a little clearer indication that wandering the grounds aimlessly every day was a pointless endeavor would have been nice as well as streamlining some of the dozen systems of item/card/ability/healing/leveling/friendship/resource/resource component/etc etc etc gathering and management would have been great.
The gameplay in the missions was solid, if a bit short -- or a LOT short if you're contrasting it against the Abbey segments. I liked the tactical combat and it got more and more fun as I understood more of the mechanics (a real, deep tutorial like FFT would have been very welcome) and I really enjoyed it once I could start using the environment and objects more. Making the levels have more verticality and obstacles/barriers to go around would have been my only major requested addition.
Overall an excellent experience and a game that I will happily recommend going forward -- with a few caveats.

This was really fun. I was looking for a card-type of game like this for a while, even tried programming my own, but this hit a lot of those spots I was looking for. Beat the main game on the hardest difficulty. Got to final boss but did not beat that part. Might go back to beat up Dracula, but honestly? He earned that spot of staying alive. The BIGGEST qualm I have with this game is that the cards drawn are ALWAYS the same no matter what. It's like when the mission loads, it predetermines the card draw from the deck into your hand, and THEN saves it. So you're stuck with a crap hand unless you quit and reload an earlier save before the mission even loads itself. Many other card-based games fixed this, and it's either a total oversight or it's intentional it's that aggravating.

This game is a favorite because of its amazing story and characters. I happily spent over 100 hours in this world, and even though I didn't end up finishing it, I consider the time I spent a fantastic experience.

Marvel's Midnight Suns kept me invested across its sizeable campaign throughout the first quarter of 2025 thanks in part to its addictive, well made, and ever evolving combat and a story which captures the very best of the Marvel cinematic universe.
