Jusant is a really nice game, and I think it really demonstrates the benefits of Game Pass. It's a largely linear climbing simulator in which you scale visually interesting environments, seeking to learn more about the world of the game. Notes and paintings are hidden off the beaten track, and these and the environments help provide context to the motivation of your player character and explain the state of the world. Jusant is a largely linear experience, but the climbing gameplay is surprisingly meditative, even if it can be repetitive. To climb, you use the right and left triggers to grip with your character's right and left hands respectively, and this feels quite satisfying. It's far more involved than climbing in most games, but doesn't feel as fleshed out as it could be, given it's the central focus here. The game is incredibly forgiving, and will keep you attached to your handholds for a few seconds after letting go of one - or even both - of the triggers. You're not required to think ahead much, and don't often need to genuinely manage your stamina and rope. Resource management comes into play so rarely that the mechanics feel a little like window dressing, and Jusant starts to feel a bit more artsy than a genuinely mechanically deep game. This seems to have been the intention though - being an experience first and foremost - and this isn't a bad thing. Being an Unreal Engine 5 title, Jusant's performance overhead is more than you might expect. I'm fairly certain I picked up on some traversal stutter also. Despite working impressively well the majority of the time, the rope didn't work as expected on multiple occasions, and my character also got stuck on innocuous floor geometry a bunch of times. I largely came away from Jusant having enjoyed the experience. It's short, but has an interesting central mechanic, and the rope system seems more impressive than even the one seen in The Last of Us Part II. Jusant sort of feels like it's setting a new standard for how climbing and ropes should work in games that don't feature them all that heavily, but I suppose aiming for this kind of detail in small parts of a game is the reason why AAA budgets have ballooned so much. Regardless, I think Jusant will have me wanting more out of games that feature these in future, as I sort of wanted more even from this game itself. I'm not sure if I'd have personally parted with the asking price of the game, but this is the primary reason I think it really shines on Game Pass. Games like this get further funding to be made, and to take risks on interesting and artsy ideas, while also getting a boost to their discoverability. I'd likely not have heard about Jusant if it weren't for Game Pass, and I'm fairly certain I wouldn't have bought and played it. It's absolutely worth your time, but whether it's worth your money is a more individual matter. I'd personally recommend checking it out on Game Pass or waiting for a sale, despite how much I liked it.

O jogo é lindo, e a trilha sonora é maravilhosa.
