I still have so many endings and achievements to earn from this game but it is a phenomenal visual novel artistically and narratively, sure theres a few things we can nitpick but as far as art goes this was beautiful, stunning and thought provoking. There is so much to unpack and discover with how much the story branches from various little choices... I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good octopus of a choice based novel with lots to learn and discover with each branching choice you make.

🐧 Das Game läuft out of the box problemlos unter POP!-OS 22.04! Es sind erst gut 25 Stunden Playtime. Ich schreibe das bewusst, weil ich gerade in meinem dritten Run bin und noch lange nicht genug gesehen habe, um das Spiel guten Gewissens beiseite zu legen. "I was a Teenage Exocolonist" (im weiteren Kurz Exocolonist) habe ich damals zufällig gefunden, und es war einer dieser Glücksgriffe, die so unglaublich happy machen, dass man gerne mal die Welt um sich herum vergisst! Weil ich selber unsicher war, ob sich das Spiel lohnt oder nicht, habe ich erst im Sale zugeschlagen. Ich versichere euch aber hiermit, dass das Spiel seinen Vollpreis mehr als wert ist und gerecht wird. Exocolonist ist für Fans von "Our Life: Beginnings and Always" ein absoluter Glücksfang! Vielleicht kennt der ein oder andere noch "Love Story: Magical Princess" von Catcap Studio - auch bei diesem Spiel startest du mit einem kleinen Kind, welches du mithilfe von Training, Unterricht und Freizeitaktivitäten skillst und über die Jahre wachsen siehst. Exocolonist verfolgt ein ähnliches Managementsystem: Über 10 Jahre mit je 13 Monaten hinweg kann der Charakter in Unterrichtseinheiten, auf Erkundungstouren und Minievents geskillt werden. Die Höhe der Skills entscheidet, welche Optionen in Dialogen und Cutscenes zur Verfügung stehen - und laden damit zu immer neuen Runs ein, in denen man sich auf immer andere Schwerpunkte konzentriert. Um ehrlich zu sein ist es unheimlich schwer, dieses Spiel in Worte zu fassen, die der eigenen Begeisterung gerecht werden. Ich hab mich schwer in dieses Spiel verliebt, die 25 Stunden sind über ein Wochenende gesammelt, in dem ich mich tief in der Geschichte verloren habe. Für Visual Novel Fans ist dieses Spiel eine 200/10 - großartige Charaktere, beeindruckende Grafik, fesselnde Story und eine wundervolle Musik, die dich direkt in die Welt von Vertumna reißt. Das Spiel ist mein persönliches Highlight seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit und reiht sich nahtlos in Langzeitlieblingsspiele ein, die mich immer wieder packen und nie so richtig loslassen. Ganz großes Kino! Auf jeden Fall eine dicke Empfehlung! 💙

For a non-fan of science fiction, an extremely captivating story loaded with role-playing opportunities and active participation in the narrative. While the advertised card "battles" are fairly lackluster, the approach to skill checks is still pretty novel.
