Final Fantasy X is the tenth main installment in the FF series and the first title released on sixth-generation consoles. It was also the first game to feature fully three-dimensional areas rather than including pre-rendered backdrops, and the first to include voice acting. Final Fantasy X tells the story of a star blitzball player, Tidus, who journeys with a young and beautiful summoner named Yuna on her quest to save the world of Spira from an endless cycle of destruction wrought by the colossal menace Sin.

HD remaster for the PS4, played on PS5. So, let me get this out of the way. This is not a controversial or uncommon opinion, but the "HD" remaster is ugly as sin (Sin?). It looks terrible man. They made the characters look like puppets from Team America: World Police. Looking at the art direction from the PS2 original and back to this "HD" version is just disappointing. Okay, now that that's out of the way, here are my thoughts. This game came out in 2002, when I was 6 years old. My brother didn't play it til I was around 10 years old and we were living in our (final) childhood home. He brought his friend over and they stayed up all night playing the game in the livingroom during the summer. I stayed up with them, watching and barely understanding. He LOVED this game. He replayed it basically every single summer, 100%'d it, optimized it, challenge ran it, and speedran it. He called this his favorite FF game, over 7, over 6, over 9, 12, 13. I've tried to play this game multiple times. I bought the HD remaster in 2018 for a couple bucks from gamestop, but never got any further than the second or third temple. I think the farthest I ever got on my own was to the lightning fields, where I tried for hours to get 200 lightning dodges in a row and rage quit back in 2020. Playing it now, on stream, I was committing to finishing it. I didn't want to play anything else, or do anything else. I WOULD finish this game and FINALLY see why my brother loved it so much. And, boy, do I understand. This story is fantastic. This world is amazing. These characters are lovable and wonderful. When I was a kid, I was very attracted to Lulu, but now that I've gone through the story, I love Yuna. The FF7 Remake/Rebirth games made me fall in love with the entire cast of that game, which is the first time I've ever felt that for a game, but with FFX I learned that this feeling was available to me all along. I just needed to give it a chance. Now the complaints: Boring combat, damage sponge enemies, gigantic health pool bosses that you have to grind for or do some long convoluted bullshit to get through, moves that one shot you no matter how strong you are, and a sphere grid system that seems very open and "just follow the path and you'll be okay!" but it isn't. It isn't. You have to know how abilities and summons scale, you have to know when to switch grids, what abilities don't matter, what to spend your points on. It's not forgiving, and there are no undo buttons. It's frustrating to all hell, and I'm SO GLAD I played it on Twitch so I could have some wonderful viewers help me understand. I think I would've given up again at zombie-casting seymour if I didn't have chatters helping me. All in all, I'm really glad I played this game. I think about it very often since finishing my playthrough, and I feel closer to my brother, even though he's not in my life anymore. I feel like I understand, and I'm better for it.

Esse é um jogo que definitivamente vale a pena eu escrever sobre. Para começar, cuidado ao escolher a versão internacional. Você progride livremente pela sphere grid e quando vê já cometeu vários erros que comprometem a sua jogabilidade e você precisará de horas para evoluir os personagens do jeito que deveria ter feito inicialmente. Em relação ao jogo, ele é extremamente dúbio para mim. Por mais que eu ache um jogo ruim, não consigo negar que é uma experiência memorável e única jogá-lo. Apesar de ter uma história impecável, nada justifica para mim terem feito essa história como um jogo, e não como um filme. Os cenários são genéricos e nada especiais, os inimigos são repetitivos, a música chega a estressar depois de tocar por uma hora seguida, intercala somente pelo som das batalhas aleatórias incessáveis. A jogabilidade se resume a andar reto eternamente, interrompido por batalhas aleatórios com os mesmos inimigos de sempre. Tudo que envolve jogo existe apenas para atrapalhar a história, que é a única coisa boa (e como é). Os personagens são recheados de carisma e suas relações são bem exploradas. Somado a isso, as animações são extremamente caprichadas, superando inclusive jogos posteriores da square para PS2, como Kingdom Hearts e Final Fantasy XII. É um deleite acompanhar essa história, pena que é não é um filme. A gameplay é básica, mas boa. Brilha especialmente nas batalhas contra chefes, em que foge um pouco da mesmice dos inimigos comuns e você precisa desenvolver estratégias mais refinadas. Apesar de não ser nada especial ou memorável, é um básico bem feito e agradável. O que atrapalha mesmo a experiência é que esse jogo não é agradável. Cansa jogar, são mais de 40 horas de linhas retas intermináveis. Apesar de amar a história, não consigo dizer que o jogo é verdadeiramente bom

While the story did hook me eventually, it was a slow start and the grinding for every boss once you got past the halfway point got a little annoying.

Геймплей не гавно, он просто мега унылый. Игра полностью линейна и представляет из себя один огромный коридор, прерывающийся боями, которые не представляют вообще никакой опасности в 99% случаев. НО! У игры очень крутая (для своего времени) презентация. Вышла она в начале жизни пс2 и разрабы просто флексили тем что могут сделать на новом железе. Сюжет такой нормальный, а главное - очень быстро движущийся (правда соплей там пиздец, но оно не особо напрягает). Ну кароч игра збс и для общего развития пройти разок не будет лишним. (У неё ремастер есть, но они там всё всрали, лучше играть в оригинал)

Um dos melhores JRPGs de todos os tempos. Jogo é belissimo, estória incrivel, gameplay que envelheveu bem e um dos ultimos jogos a conter o Nobuo Uematsu na composição da trilha sonora. 10/10 como o próprio titulo.
