Final Fantasy Chronicles is a compilation that includes Final Fantasy IV, and another Square production, Chrono Trigger, released for the Sony PlayStation. Both games were ports of titles originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Although both games differ little from the original versions in terms of gameplay, graphics and sound, a number of additional bonus/extra sequences are included, including art galleries, bestiaries and full motion video cutscenes.

Final Fantasy 4 for the PS1 was challenging; which is honestly a good thing! This one put its efforts more into the story than into the customizability of the characters; so take that as you will. For me, I enjoy an RPG and grade it more on how the characters develop and how the story arc goes; and this one is honestly the best of the series thus far! (1-3). Had to grind quite a bit though to beat some of the bosses because even understanding the mechanics would only get you so far. My little complaint for this one is that one of your characters (Edge) is surprisingly pretty weak and ends up dying a lot; no matter how much you train him up. The inventory system is good and there's a big chocobo that holds your stuff just in case you need it. I feel like this is much less of an issue than the previous final fantasy because you are given a set of characters that already have their jobs assigned; meaning you aren't trying multiple jobs on several different people at a given time. (which increases the need for a huge inventory load) Music is good and the characters are quirky which adds charm for the series. I wont spoil the story so that you may too experience this one day. The Sprites have gained a bit more life as well. Each final fantasy improves upon itself for the most part there. Would I play this again? Maybe someday. It would be for story or a nostalgic reason if so.
