Developed by id Software, and originally released in 1993, DOOM pioneered and popularized the first-person shooter, setting a standard for all FPS games. The critically acclaimed sequel, DOOM II, followed in 1994. Now the definitive, newly enhanced versions of DOOM + DOOM II are available as a combined product.

A classic FPS, a monolith of western game design, and an inspiration to many.
These play just like the original game with a few control improvements. Excluding some intentionally difficult design decisions in the fourth episode of the first game, no level is too large or nebulous for most people to figure out. The map system will help you if you're thorough and patient.
Each enemy acts uniquely, and getting the monsters to fight with each other is a good way to save ammo if you know their behaviour. Combat is quick and fun without trying to overwhelm the player. If you feel like being swarmed then you can play on nightmare mode.
This is a great effort of game preservation, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to investigate older games. You can save your game any time you want, many of the game's expansions and extra levels are included, and the achievements for the Steam version are not stupid.
Rip and tear. It is fun.

Two classics, brought to the mainstream by this re-launch, which allows people who have never played classic Doom to jump in and play solo or with friends without the hassle.
Two amazing games that still hold up to this day. Featuring incredible music, gameplay, a wide range of enemies, and a great selection of weapons to Rip and Tear with.
