Like its predecessor, Diablo II is an action role-playing game with dark fantasy and horror themes. The player controls a new hero attempting to stop the destruction unleashed by Diablo's return. The game's 4 acts feature a variety of locations and settings to explore and battle in, as well as an increased cast of characters to play as and interact with. Diablo II had become one of the most popular online games of all time. Major factors that contributed to Diablo II's success include what fans found to be addictive hack-and-slash gameplay and free access to Battle.net.

I remember being on a trip when this game shipped and delivered to my house. I had to wait 3 days while my friend was out there leveling toons. This was one of the genre defining games. Even more so than Diablo I, we expanded to eventually 7 classes and I would play each of them. The skill trees were so good, leveling, gear, affixes, the rune system. Yet to see a game since that wrapped me up in story, had this kind of gear and mod system that just felt like you could play endlessly and still have fun. Resurrected was a great refresh on graphics and port to the Battle.net app

С этого и случилось моё проклятье, проклятье любви к hack and slash играм, поощряющее лут-гоблиничество. Минималистичная, но в то же время требующая кумеканья над билдом, рунными словами и варкой предметов в кубе. Ну и + ностальгия.

Iconic. I've replayed it so many times and it never really gets old. Diablo II is an epic tale of good versus evil that allows you to choose from several hero classes, offering a huge variety of gameplay options. The graphics were amazing for 2000 standards, but the remake, Diablo II Resurrected offers a more updated look.
