One of the PS2's first RPGs, Dark Cloud is a title that challenges players to not only strategise, battle and solve puzzles, but also to create geographical landscapes using the new Georama system. Gamers assume the role of a young boy named Toran on an unforgettable journey of rebirth, revival and hope. Unfortunately an evil demon spirit has been released and has left destruction in its wake and Toran must harness the spirit of those destroyed to rebuild the lands in time for an epic confrontation. True to life graphics should mesmerise gamers as they create villages complete with houses, hills, churches, volcanoes, and streams; they'll even be able to control the weather!

What a crazy game. I got to the end of the game at 20 hours and spend a total of 40 hours of grinding. Then 10 hours climbing 99 floors because why not. I started fishing around the 20 hour mark and it was the final thing I had to do. All I remember from the game was the music and the fairy king. At the moment of writing this I am 20 hours in on Darkcloud 2. giving it half a extra star for being the first ps2 game I played. hahaha!

While dark cloud holds up to the test of time the combat, as does its sequel, does not. It's definitely got roots that are noticeable in the sequel and the story oddly enough is fairly similar. Overall Just as good as Dark Cloud was from back in the day.

[Platinado] Juegazo de ps2 que tiene un buen desarrollo y una gran cantidad de contenido de calidad. Una vez terminado se abre una mazmorra larguísima como postgame pero no hacia falta para el platino. Pese a eso puede que en algún momento la juegue. En definitiva una aventura que ha merecido la pena vivir.

A unique and interesting ride. While the game might appear on the surface to be a Zelda clone for the PS2 its actually an incredibly deep dungeon survival game with town building elements. The story is nothing revolutionary and the silent protagonist makes for a less than memorable character. The gameplay loop is incredibly satisfying and with a banger of an OST.

Rating: 7/10 Time: 30 Hours The Good: Catchy OST, fun city-building, interesting plot, fun dungeon crawling The Bad: Tough start, story doesn't pick up until end game Absolutely charming game. Very looking forward to the sequel, which I often hear improves upon the first in every way.
