I play this game like im playing with barbie dolls, it's delightful. You cannot lose wars if you possess the enemy and force them to surrender! :)

Eigentlich geiler scheiß! Wäre da nicht das sterben deiner Charaktere und die ewige neu Aufteilung deines Reichs. Am Ende spielt mans für das Drama. Es ist schön, leider aber auch frustrierend, so eine Dynastie aufzubaun.

Ce que j'aime particulièrement, c’est commencer en vassal et gravir les échelons petit à petit, génération après génération. C'est fascinant de voir comment chaque décision, chaque façon de jouer le jeu peut façonner l'avenir de ton royaume. J'aime m'y replonger de temps en temps

Okay so first things first: Like most paradox games the tutorial does not give you the entire toolbox necessary to master this game and you'll be doing a lot of restarting and youtube tutorials to teach yourself the basics.

But then... Oh my gods!

Let me explain with a story:

I started out thinking it would be fun to play as the Basque countries, them allowing for female rulers and councillors and what-not made it sound like it would give me more tools, which it did.

BUT THEN I basically had to Holy War for my very existence for an entire generation against the Iberian coast while petty dukes where trying to make claims on my rightful home province of Navarra!

This would have been fine, but eventually my king passed away and I had to deal with a succession crisis on the Heir who died to plague after securing the holdings of our fledgling little nation.

Then the THIRD HEIR, an absolute savage bureaucrat of a woman took over and we finally had some freaking income without having to rely on Papa Pope to give us a bi-monthly allowance for fighting heretics.

This allowed us to focus outwards and on establishing control and claims on "Old Vasco" namely the actual Basque countries of old.

Then out of nowhere a family in freaking Brittany decided they didn't like my family on a Shakespearean level and started a Game Of Thrones-style beef that spanned generations!

It kicked off with them killing my Queen's uncle, which was alright, his heir was still in the Dynasty and Family and I was getting ever so close to reforming Old Vasco.

Then these Pörpoët or whatever people ASSASSINATED MY QUEEN!

Now her heir Rodrigo is on the field. Not a bureaucrat like his mother, he's a straight up warlord wincested to perfection (oh yeah you can do a little bit of the ol' European intermarriage to keep the bloodline strong).

Rodrigo is a Genius and has Herculean strength, from his gloriously engineered bloodline and he is ready to WORK.

Rodrigo beats the snot out of a Viking empire that was in control of northern France and the entire Great Britain and Ireland to such a degree that the Viking Emperor is like "I respect that, let's be bros".

Now during these wars Rodrigo takes care to blitz the Pörpoët's home city every time in order to capture as many of their family as possible to have them rot in the dungeon.

We bribe the pope and gain a friendship with three consecutive Papas in order to keep our rivals excommunicated and for him to give us claims on areas we need for Old Vasco.

At the age of 43, Rodrigo restores Old Vasconia to its former glory and becomes Rodrigo The Great, but the Family Feud is still going!

So we cloak-and-dagger a Vassal War within the Viking Empire, making sure the rival family loses their holdings.

Then the Assassins come out.

Did I feel bad about yeeting and deleting the last remnants of a powerless House when it consisted of basically 7 kids not even old enough to marry or hold land?

Yes.

Did Rodrigo The Great restore Old Vasconia and avenge his mother on a biblical level?

Also yes!

10/10 game, it has everything except direct Total War or Bannerlord level control in combat.
