Copycat é uma experiência emocionalmente poderosa, delicada e, ao mesmo tempo, profundamente inquietante. O jogo usa uma narrativa simples à primeira vista, mas que rapidamente se transforma numa reflexão intensa sobre identidade, pertencimento e afeto. Acompanhar a jornada da gata que é substituída por uma “cópia perfeita” é doloroso e lindo ao mesmo tempo. A forma como o jogo aborda abandono, laços afetivos e a busca por voltar ao lar é tocante e extremamente bem construída. Visualmente o jogo é encantador, com uma direção de arte suave e expressiva, que combina perfeitamente com a temática emocional da história. A trilha sonora é envolvente e dá vida aos momentos mais silenciosos, reforçando a sensibilidade da narrativa. A jogabilidade é simples, mas é esse minimalismo que permite que a história brilhe, guiando você de forma natural pelos sentimentos da protagonista. É uma experiência curta, mas que deixa impacto por muito tempo depois do fim. Copycat é perfeito para quem gosta de histórias sensíveis, metáforas fortes e narrativas que conversam direto com o coração.

Copycat promete aquilo que entrega, mas é um pouco massante. A história é divertida e bem contada, mas acho que começa a repetir mais do mesmo e em vez de inovar com as curtas horas de gameplay que tem, ele prefere repetir certas partes, principalmente os sonhos que acho por si só irritantes. Quanto à direção de arte, parece um monte de asset flip, o que eu não espero de um estúdio que tem parcerias fortes como a Nuuvem.

Dieses Spiel hat mich sauer gemacht, aber im positiven Sinne. Es hat mich dazu gebracht, Charaktere anzubrüllen etwas nicht zu tun. Copycat ist ein sehr mitreißendes Spiel, mit einer sehr guten Message. (Zumindest wenn ihr so wie ich, große Tierfreunde seit.) Es hat mich auf jeden Fall zum heulen gebracht. :']

This game had a really cute premise, you play as a cat that's newly adopted into a home with an old woman who's probably not in good enough health to take care of a cat. On top of that, she's replacing a cat that went missing. The cat's personality is communicated with light-hearted comparisons to wildcats like Lions and tigers being shown on the TV. As you rampage through the house, you mimic the behavior of the large cats on TV by scratching furniture, pushing things off tables, and stealing food. The animation is pretty janky and fairly buggy, but charming. I played the game on Steam Deck. The first hour of the game I found fairly captivating with an interesting premise, cute characters, and opportunity for deep topics within the plot, difficult situations and conflicts between the owner and cat, and personal growth both for the cat to overcome fear of abandonment and the owner to learn healthier attachment to pets and to acknowledge when you're not physically capable of taking care of someone else, and resolving that responsibility. However, this game falls short of everything it sets out to convey at the start. (Spoilers below) Rather than explore failure and growth, the owner immediately resorts to dumping the cat (you) on the side of the road when she realizes she made a mistake. You spend the second half of the game trying to survive and get home. This is after the daughter of the owner also threw you out because she can't take care of another cat, and it turns out she dumped the last one, too. There's no negative outcome for the owner or the daughter, or even a message of "treat animals well" in the game's writing. The ending has the cat happily living outside, viewing the family from afar, forgiving them for the mistreatment. This game reads like it was created by someone who hates cats but is forced to live with them and decided to make a game about it. I'm sad to say that this game was one of the most disappointing titles I've played to date.

This game absolutely devastated me. The story is good but contains plenty of trigger warnings and honestly made me question the devs decision to make this their first game. Very pretty, but very emotional.

A short story about a situation that happens far too often than we might think. The visuals and music really make the overall experience and enhance the story, and to think this game was developed by 2 people is incredible. Some of the minigame buttons on keyboard were a bit weird, but the gameplay made sense and the game/story didn't overstay its welcome. And I am very glad there was a happy ending (otherwise I would probably still be crying :') )

While the gameplay feels almost there, the inconsistent feel to the controls, and uneven message of this game left me feeling dissatisfied (and even a bit angry). I had been very much looking forward to it based on previews, but the 'twist' turned out to be misleading. The story ended up making me sad, angry, and a bit frustrated--and the controls sometimes were just shy of feeling like they were being responsive enough, which made for an equally frustrating gameplay experience mechanically.
