Chulip in its own spin on the obvious inspiration for this game Moon. A beautiful adventure, monster capture slice of life esc game. growing up as a poor and strange kid being judged by your neighbors. But in the end you are accepted for your uniqueness and loved for who you are! I absolutely love the moral this game sets out with its ending tied up all neatly. I believe this games journey of a kid growing up having an active imagination. But as you go around opening yourself up being who YOU are, you get more and more accepted by everyone. It's beautiful how the game uses its gameplay in a unique story telling way not any other medium could properly replicate. I think this and Moon: remix rpg are examples of who the story telling in games are so impressive if done right. Even if some of it is story from the inner machinations of your brain. same goes for almost anything from a company who brantched from Love-de-lic. (punchline, Skip, Vanpool, Onion games, etc) The engaging way they changed Moons gameplay to fit this game was great too. More laid back with the lack of passing out. Using your heart as health for encounters rather then both that and time. I adore why libertys they took to make this game feel as smooth as it did. The tells for most undergroundians were in the envirnoment or good to try to find out. I think the best part that technically impacted gameplay was the manual they had with the game. it gave you a checklist and hints for more areas and people in the game. having a way to change the difficulty of the game to fit YOU is very cool. funny enough this year seems to give me games that handle difficulty in different ways, this defaintly was one of my favorites c: as a small note the noise design was so calming and the lemotifs for the music is to die for. I absolutely ate up everything for that and will be listening back to the OST for a while. the games almost puppet like looks and exaderated designs also fit its strange yet lovely atmosphere. Theres a few things however that werent so clear or hard to get, but I bet those were fun ot talk about when the game came out and you had people to talk about it with. I honestly don't have much bad to say about this game, it left me satisfied even if I didn't fully complete it. It left me happy and accomplished. A wonderful memory! Also if you like this game and you somehow haven't played Moon: remix rpg, then please play or watch that. Its not the exact same, but is very close. I hold both these games and chibi robo to my heart. Love de lic and their off shoots made great experiences <3 I loved it and can't wait for their RPG later down the line. in summary, Kissed a rat, 10/10
