Ape Escape 2 is the sequel to Ape Escape. In this platform game it's your goal to catch all the apes jumping, walking and flying around the diverse levels the game has to offer. A large arsenal of gadgets can be used to make it all a little easier, with the catching net being the most important weapons of them all. Other gadgets include a RC Car, to drive over monkey's and collect objects, an Ape Radar, to detect the nearest monkey, a baseball bat, to hit monkeys unconscious, and a magnet, to move certain objects in the maps. Your quest is to catch all monkeys in the levels and to stop the evil Specter from taking over the world. All monkeys in the levels are somewhat unique with their own character abilities and their unique name. Some monkeys just sit on their place, while others attack you with projectiles or run away quickly.

+ Giving coins a use outside of lives + Endearing visuals + A lot more stages (Time trials are neat) + More fun bosses - Faulty controls ~ Jimmy is a lot less expressive than Spike - Sky Flyer is less reliable - Net is less reliable -- Jimmy has this wind-up animation before initiating a swing which is done in real-time, meaning that monkeys can run away mid-animation, making the simple act of catching the monkey more inconsistent than it would be otherwise. (The "cinematic" camera snap that it does also contributes to this) Horizontal Swing is also inconsistent since it can be done while the net has already been swung, and Jimmy will do it even if you want to do a vertical swing instead. It's nice that the jump now has a wider arc, but again, there's this super short wind-up animation beforehand that makes timing certain jumps tricky for no reason. It's more imprecise than it needs to be.

Petit jeu fort sympatique de la ps2, ou le principe est de capturer les singes avec un filet a singe (dis comme ca c'est vrai que c'est bisarre) chaque niveau on nous depose dans un stage avec des thématique différentes. Tout les singes ne se capture pas de la même manière, certains sont agressifs, certains sont fuyard et d'autres sont même cachés et vous vaudra de revenir avec des nouveaux gadgets afin de tous les capturés, jeu très facile d'accès pour tout public et très agréable

Great sequel to the original, added fun new mechanics and controlled tighter. Sadly Jimmy is no Spike but he is fun.

Tiene escenas que me parecieron muy chistosas, algún que otro nivel mejor que los que aparecieron en el 1, pero en controles modificaron mucho la esencia del juego y lo hicieron menos divertido. No tan agradable para seguir jugando después de llegar al final.

É um jogo bom, não vou mentir, mas possui muitos problemas. A jogabilidade envelheceu muito mal, o controle de câmera é quase inexistente e visualmente o port feito para o PS4 é bem bugado. Fui impedido de terminar legitimamente o game simplesmente pois uma das mecânicas de captura não funciona e elas são obrigatórias em uma das últimas fases do jogo. É uma pena que esteja nesse estado, espero honestamente um remake da série com correções.
