"Bend and twist reality in A Fisherman's Tale, the mind-bending VR puzzle adventure game in which being turned upside down and inside out is not merely a play on words. Playing as Bob, a tiny fisherman puppet, you live alone in your tiny cabin, oblivious to the world outside. When your radio broadcasts a storm alert, you have to get to the top of the lighthouse and turn on the light! But as you try to leave your cabin with the help of some uncanny sidekicks, you realize what's waiting outside is not at all what you expected..."

A Fisherman’s Tale is a great example of taking a novel idea and building a whole game world around it – everything this game does is coherent and made with the single purpose of making the most of its core feature. The result is a charming, unforgettable showcase of not only what VR, but games as a whole can accomplish when developers are able to fully unleash their creativity on the player – especially in a space like VR gaming, where innovation is often neglected in favor of buzzwords and reliance on the hardware’s innate features. Even if A Fisherman’s Tale is a very short experience with little replay value, the fun and brain-wrecking gimmick as well as the charming characters, world and music make this a game you have to play once in your life, even if you don’t have a VR headset right now. Put it on your backlog and give it a shot if the chance ever arrives – I promise you, you will not regret it.

Overall, an above-average VR experience. Clever puzzles that aren't too hard to solve, fun graphics, and a decent story (though I thought it'd be more emotionally poignant at the end) round out a nice, short time. The final challenge is a bit hard, leading into irksome territory, but the average gameplay difficulty is very fair. Two mechanics of special note: Respawning Items & Telescoping Hands. If an item is dropped into a hard-to-reach crevice, just wait about a full minute, and that item will poof back into its original location; this item respawn mechanic helps to alleviate the worry of soft-locking one's self if an item falls out-of-bounds. Finally, the telescoping hand mechanic is great for someone like me who games at a desk with minimal maneuverability; being able to push a button to extend my reach made this game playable in a confined gaming space. :) If looking for a short, slightly challenging VR puzzler, then "A Fisherman's Tale" might be for you. :)
