It's a goty. I appreciated that there was no map, because it made me actually pay attention to where I was going. Yeah, I got lost, that's part of the experience. The music is top tier. The art style was amazing. How everything came together to serve its one purpose of being an amazing video is another thing that should be noted.

Unicorn Overlord boasts a beautiful art style and great music, fitting for a TRPG. However, the gameplay loop becomes repetitive, focused on exploring, finding, and liberating towns. The story's potential is hindered by a lack of character depth. With 60 characters and rapport chats scattered across the map, developing connections feels challenging. The timer encourages rushing, diminishing the importance of strategic party composition beyond basic roles. Overall I enjoyed my time with it, but I was bored with it by the time I hit the last third.
