A fantastic sequel go the first bioshock game filled with fun gameplay and mechanics that's a step up from the first game where this time you get to play like a big daddy I loved the gameplay in this and recommend a playthrough

I finished it but not in the capacity of playing the remastered on pc, when it came to consoles I beat it on that platform so it's gonna take some time to revisit this on pc.

Masterpiece. Woulda given 5/5 if there weren't so many copyrighted songs in this game, but other than that, that was a GREAT game, great story, really cool fights and super fun.

Overall Score: 7.7/10 Steam Deck I've been meaning to play this for a while and it was a nice experience,didn't feel as great as people say,but I enjoyed it. The gameplay is pretty basic and honestly gets kinda tiring during the later parts of the game,due to the extreme lack of enemy variety design wise and gameplay wise. Guns are okay ,but not great , I used mainly the machine gun,but during the end I dropped it as it felt weak and started using the wrench,which became pretty powerful. Plasmids are cool ,but nothing really interesting ,except for the one controlling big daddies,that one is cool. The world while interesting at first,it feels pretty samey and loses its charm later on. Big daddies are a big menace at the start ,their presence is a PROBLEM,but after a while it's easy to beat them mainly because of the AI. My favourite moments were the introduction obviously, the moment Jack meets Ryan and the ending. I was disappointed when I saw that Tenenbaum and Langford share the same model in the game. Also I'm not a big fan of silent protagonists. Finally the atmosphere was good. The story is pretty nice. A man named Ryan wanted to make a utopia free of the government, so he got bright minds around the world and created a city in the atlantic, Rapture. There they discovered a species that was producing a substance with unique properties,they called that ADAM, which they used on people for experiments and even orphans who became the little sisters,whose goal was to extract ADAM. He got obsessed with the outside world not learning about it and having no connections with Rapture,which led to executions etc. Sooner or later classes based on wealth and origin were created obviously. A man called Fontain tried to take advantage of the working class and make them fight against Ryan and the upper class to take control. Fontain was killed,but then a bright individual called Atlas appeared,who showed care for the working class and fought for them,while also trying to gather little sisters. A civil war begun and Rapture was in chaos. Ryan unleashed a new creation called Big daddies,who were modified humans in a diver's suit ,whose goal was to protect the little sisters. Then comes Jack a man from the outside world,whose plane crashed in the middle of the Atlantic, he goes in rapture and Atlas gets in touch with him,leading gradually to fight against Ryan. After a lot of stuff happening Jack finally meets Ryan and this is possibly the coolest scene in the game. Ryan reveals that Jack was actually being used all this time,because he is susceptible to the phrase ''Would you kindly...'' he is a modified slave, then he tells Jack to kill him while he shouts '' A Man chooses , a slave obeys'' ,but dies unfortunately. Then comes the reveal,which honestly wasn't surprising since Atlas was fishy from the get go. Atlas never existed ,he is actually Fontain ,who went into hiding and now he has control over Rapture and sends an attack against Jack. It's also revealed that Jack was born in Rapture and sent to the outside world by Fontain. Jack is saved by Tenenbaum and the little sisters, who is the creator of the little sisters and the one who gave Jack the option to save them instead of harvesting them. She gives the antidote against Fontain's control and guide Jack to get another one for the heart stoppage caused by a command of Fontain. In the end comes the final showdown against Fontain who got his body full on Adam and at the end of the fight purified little sisters come and kill him. Then depending on if Jack harvested them or purified them there are two endings, the good one which he leaves Rapture and takes them along with him for them to have a normal life,which is very beautiful especially when we see his old hand being hold by a couple of grown women's hands(grown little sisters). In the other one he goes into a war with the outside world sending an army of splicers. I liked Sander Cohen the weird artist ,he was an intriguing character. All in all , a pretty good game ,but its highlight is definitely the story.

Bioshock was a legendary game when it released and it still is to this day. Absolutely worth a play!

The remaster looks great, the story while not my favorite is still good though it doesn't have that same feel as when you play it for the first time because off (spoilers) the plot twist. The gameplay is good, there is a good amount of plasmids you can choose from for different builds, I went with a wrench build and it slaps, sadly there's no new game plus for you to test out your completed build. Overall its a good game and worth the play, though i would suggest the remaster over the original if your PC can handle it which mine when i first started streaming couldn't. Also its nice that it has achievements.
